Jan Jambon is suspending supplies of military-capable equipment to Turkey

The Flemish Government has decided to freeze decisions about Turkish requests for the supply of goods that can be used for military purposes. The news was communicated by Minister-President Jan Jambon, who is also responsible for Foreign Affairs in the Government.

Jan Jambon had earlier called for Europe to respond to the Turkish assault in the Kurdish area of Syria with economic sanctions. Now he is following up his words with actions. “Until the situation in the region becomes clearer, we are suspending decisions such as these,” is the message.
