Theo Francken warns against federal government without a Flemish majority

“A federal government with a strong majority on the Flemish side would be best for Flemings.” On the De Ochtend news programme on Radio 1, MP Theo Francken shone a light on the formation of a federal government. “We have to show unity and the best way for us to do this is from Flanders. Because Flanders is the economic powerhouse of Belgium. Anyone who decides to govern without a Flemish majority is taking a risk.”
About the coup d’état in Mali
MP Theo Francken also talked about the coup d’état in Mali and what it means for Europe. “Mali is a crucial country on the route to Europe. Europe must be present there to curb human trafficking.” According to Theo Francken, Europe must determine its position in the coming days. “Keita (the ousted president, ed.) was very corrupt and has reduced Mali to a mess. Maybe we should give this a chance.”
