The federal budget is even deeper in the red: “The worst in Europe”
“It is only when the dykes break that people realise how important it is to have sufficient cash on hand. And therefore to have a proper budget in place. But unfortunately, the De Croo government has done nothing but spend taxpayers’ money since taking office. Nothing has come of the promise to get more people into work to finance the high spending.
We are now seeing the results of that policy: a deficit of more than EUR 23 billion and the worst budget in all of Europe. By the way, 84% of that deficit has nothing to do with the crises, but everything to do with the Belgian disease. De Croo promised to reform, but clearly urgently needs to be reminded of his own promise,” says MP Sander Loones.
