Repatriation agreement with Mauritania

13 November 2018

“One of the major promises in the elections was to conclude agreements with the Maghreb countries for smoother repatriation and better cooperation.” State Secretary for Asylum and Migration Theo Francken today signed a migration agreement in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania. He did so together with the Prime Minister of that country. Mauritania is now the third Maghreb country with which Theo Francken has signed a repatriation agreement, after Morocco and Tunisia. “That just leaves Algeria, and then I’ll have four out of four. I am hoping for that to happen before the elections,” Theo Francken says with satisfaction.
