In Scotland, the Scottish National Party (SNP) wants to hold a referendum on independence. Like the N-VA in Flanders, the SNP is the largest political party in Scotland. An independent Scotland is not a romantic notion, but a realistic option. Flanders should watch the issue closely and, where necessary, draw lessons about going down this path.
