N-VA says a clear ‘no’ to Di Rupo note

7 July 2011

“After thoroughly reading ‘formateur’ Elio Di Rupo’s note and the technical analyses of my colleagues, it has become clear to me that this note is, for the N-VA, really not a good basis for further negotiations,” N-VA Chairman Bart De Wever explained at a press conference. “We are of the opinion that it is more honest to clearly say ‘no’ to this note than to express a tactical ‘yes’, only to then enter into negotiations that are bound to fail.” The N-VA is of the view that in budgetary, social-economic and tax terms, as well as with regard to the State reform, Brussels and BHV, the ‘formateur’s’ project is a bad thing for all inhabitants of this country, and in particular for Flemings.
