N-VA demands strict monitoring of convicted terrorists

“How is it possible that convicted terrorists can form another gang and get weapons so easily?” The N-VA reacted angrily to the news that five of the seven suspects who were arrested after the hostage-taking of a thirteen-year-old boy from Genk turned out to be radicalised Muslims. One of them, Khalid Bouloudo, has even been convicted of terrorism twice.
Longer in prison
For the N-VA, this shows once again how important it is to continue to monitor terrorists strictly, even after their sentences have ended. “We want compulsory monitoring by the sentence enforcement courts for those convicted of a terrorist offence, even after the end of their sentences. If they still present a major danger to society, it should be possible to keep them in prison for longer.”
“Our bill for mandatory monitoring of convicted terrorists for at least 15 years is currently under discussion in Parliament. We are calling on the other parties to adopt it as well,” concludes the N-VA.
