Brussels reforms are peanuts

15 March 2013

The N-VA is of the opinion that the proposed plans on the long-awaited reforms of the Brussels-Capital Region are insufficient. The initiatives concerning urban development, mobility and housing are no more than baby steps. There is no longer any talk of the obvious reforms that were announced and promised: the merger of the Brussels municipalities, the reduction of the thousand Brussels politicians, the unified police zone, the application of the language legislation after more than 50 years, the list goes on... The Flemish get to put a hefty sum of money on the table, but receive not a single fundamental improvement in Brussels in return; on the contrary.
