Bart De Wever receives prestigious Sabino Arana-prize

N-VA Chairman Bart De Wever was awarded the prestigious Sabino Arana prize in Bilbao. De Wever was rewarded for “the fight through which he is turning Belgium into a confederal state and for wanting to make Flanders grow into a fully fledged member of the European Union". At the end of the nineteenth century, Sabino Arana laid the foundations for Basque nationalism. “Today, the Basque Country and Flanders share the same ambition to take their own places in the European Union,” Bart De Wever said in the packed Arriga theatre. “It gives me courage to know that are on our way together, as friends.”
