A good education agreement for Flanders

4 June 2013

The Flemish Government, including the N-VA, reached an agreement that will bring about significant reforms in education in Flanders in the coming years. An excellent reform plan has been put forward, which retains the best aspects of Flemish education while eliminating sticking points with the help of concrete measures. The reforms must ensure that fewer young people leave school in the future without a diploma. This should be possible without lowering the high quality of our education or undermining the value of a diploma. At the same time, greater attention is paid to science and technology, starting from as early as primary school. In addition, we are taking concrete measures to remedy the sometimes poor knowledge of the medium of education, i.e. Dutch. In short, the N-VA has opted for a series of targeted interventions that will lead to an increase in the effectiveness of our education.
