Bart De Wever becomes Antwerp’s new mayor

Bart De Wever becomes Antwerp’s new mayor on 1 January 2013. “A new era is beginning for this city on 1 January 2013. With a new city council, in a heavily modified political landscape,” De Wever says. The new administrative agreement ,“450 ideas for a more beautiful and better Antwerp”, has been adopted and is known as “Respect for A”. “The administrative agreement deals with what brings us all together. Respect for the authorities by all Antwerpenaren, respect of Antwerpenaren for all co-Antwerpenaren, and finally, respect of Antwerpenaren for their city. It is all about rights and duties, and opportunities, and giving as well as being given chances."
